Monday 23/06/03 to Tuesday 24/06/03
A cloudy, wet Monday morning across eastern England, some heavy rain at times with the chance of thunder. Elsewhere, a much fresher morning, with sunny spells and brisk westerly winds. This brighter weather will extend to all parts during the afternoon, with just a scattering of showers across northern Scotland, and one or two left across East Anglia. Feeling warm in the sunshine, but much more pleasant that the humid days of late. Overnight, many parts will see clearing skies as high pressure builds, and into Tuesday morning most parts will see long sunny spells. These will persist into the afternoon, and beginning to feel warmer again with only patchy cloud. Thicker cloud later across western Scotland and Northern Ireland may produce the odd spot of rain, but even here staying largely dry. Another clear, cool night in prospect.
Wednesday 25/06/03 to Thursday 26/06/03
Another warm, sunny day on Wednesday for most parts, with very little cloud around. The exception will be the far north of Scotland and Northern England, where cloud will come and go. Winds very light, so feeling warm with temperatures reaching the mid twenties Celcius. Into the evening however, there is the slight chance of a thundery shower in southern England. Overnight and into Thursday morning, there is the increased risk of showers in southern parts, again some thundery and it will become rather humid here once more. Elsewhere, remaining warm and sunny, the best of the sunshine in eastern parts. Winds will become fresh southerly across western parts, and later cloudier skies will filter to many western parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Friday 27/06/03 to Sunday 29/06/03
The situation for the end of the week and the weekend is very uncertain at present, and all depends on the influence of high pressure. Friday looks set to see a break-down across many parts, with a band of rain moving slowly eastwards, and similarly to the start of this week, some may turn thundery. However, the progress and intensity of this rain band is uncertain. It is likely however that high pressure will return for the weekend though, turning briefly fresher but then warming up into Sunday with a good deal of sunshine for many. Next update - 25/06.
