Wednesday 26/10/05 to Thursday 27/10/05
It's currently looking unseasonably warm across England and Wales on Wednesday, as southerly winds drag up warm air from the contintent. However, it will still be unsettled, with spells of rain spreading northwards at first, leaving behind a good deal of cloud in the afternoon. However, some sunny spells will develop across south-east England and East Anglia. The rain will reach northern England and Scotland after midday, and at the same time, more heavy rain will nudge eastwards across Ireland and Northern Ireland. A risk of southerly gales through the Irish Sea. A deep area of low pressure will remain stationary to the west of Ireland on Thursday, as a long, trailing cold front gives more heavy rain across Ireland and Northern Ireland. This rain will reach western Scotland, west Wales and south-west England during the afternoon, and gales will persist through the Irish Sea. Across eastern Scotland and northern England, conditions will be dry but cloudy. The rest of England and Wales will have some sunshine, and it will remain unseasonably warm for late October.

Friday 28/10/05 to Saturday 29/10/05
The area of low pressure, responsible for the unsettled conditions, will move northwards during Friday, as a cold front finally makes it to eastern parts of England. After a spell of wet weather, much of England and Wales will become brighter with just a few showers. These showers will be more frequent across Ireland and Scotland, some heavy with thunder. Later in the day, more persistent rain will return to many north-western areas. Strong to gale force westerly winds will affect western Scotland and Northern Ireland, but it will be windy everywhere. Feeling cooler across England and Wales. A transient ridge of high pressure will give a settled day across England and Wales on Saturday, with some sunny spells. This drier weather will extend into Scotland during the morning. However, this will merely be the calm before the storm. As a huge area of low pressure deepens to the west of the UK, heavy rain will already be steadily pushing across Ireland, into western Scotland. South-west winds will soon reach gale force around the coast, leading into a very blustery night.

Sunday 30/10/05 to Monday 31/10/05
On Sunday, south-east England and East Anglia will remain dry and bright, and will become unusually warm once again. Elsewhere, it will be overcast with heavy rain, especially across Wales, northern England and Scotland. South-westerly winds will reach gale or even severe gale force through the Irish Sea, across Northern Ireland and around the coast of western Scotland. There will be a risk of local flooding in the north-west, as the rain proves relentless for much of the day. So what does the weather have in store for a creepy Hallowe'en evening? At the moment, it's looking like being a very soggy trick or treat, with heavy and persistent rain continuing across England and Wales. The rain will clear from Ireland and Scotland, but only to be replaced by heavy and blustery showers. Feeling a good deal cooler in the west, as strong to gale force winds start to come in from a west or north-westerly direction.
