Wednesday 28/04/04 to Thursday 29/04/04
On Wednesday, high pressure will attempt to move into western parts, but there will always be a good deal of cloud across the UK. Much of England and Wales will have some sunny spells, but a scattering of showers is also likely, perhaps heavy in places. Parts of Scotland will be rather cloudy with showery bursts of rain for a time, and after a mostly bright day Northern Ireland will cloud over with light rain later. The best of the dry and sunny weather will be across Ireland. Staying generally warm everywhere. On Thursday, many parts will again see some spells of sunshine, but also with rather a lot of cloud around. Scattered showers during the morning may well become heavier and more widespread across central and eastern parts. The best of the sunshine will once again be across Ireland and other western parts.
Friday 30/04/04 to Saturday 01/05/04
The ridge of high pressure looks set to maintain its influence across Ireland, together with western parts of Wales and south-west England on Friday, with some sunny spells expected. There will be more cloud around across the rest of England and parts of Scotland, and this will give showery bursts of rain. Some of the showers will be heavy in the afternoon, especially in eastern England. Feeling cooler everywhere, but still warm in the sunshine. Low pressure will begin to move from the north during Saturday, and this will bring with it unsettled weather. A cool northerly wind will bring outbreaks of rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland during the day, but scattered showers are expected to break out ahead of this in other parts of the UK.
Sunday 02/04/04 to Monday 03/05/04
With low pressure right over the country on Sunday, there will be a good deal of cloud around with outbreaks of rain. Some of the rain will be heavy at times, especially across Scotland and Northern Ireland. England and Wales should have some brightness between showers, but it will be cool everywhere. By Monday however, much of the rain should have cleared through with only eastern parts of England starting rather wet. Elsewhere, a cool north-westerly wind will bring much brighter conditions with some sunshine, but also a scattering of showers, most frequent in the north and west.
