Monday 29/11/04 to Tuesday 30/11/04
It will be a chilly start to the new week, with an early frost across central and eastern parts of England and Scotland. Northerly winds bringing the colder air will be on the way out though, and westerly winds will begin to move in through the day. These will bring cloud and outbreaks of rain across most of Ireland, western Scotland and western parts of England and Wales through the afternoon, with snow over the hills to begin with. South-eastern areas should stay dry until dark though. Becoming progressively milder. On Tuesday, the rain will continue to affect central and eastern parts of England, although it will ease away during the afternoon. After a drier spell with some sunshine across western England, Wales and eastern parts of Ireland, more showery bursts of rain will spread from the west, heavy at times. Scotland will have some sunny spells, but always expect to see a blustery shower or two.

Wednesday 01/12/04 to Thursday 02/12/04
We're expecting it to turn colder again by Wednesday, as northerly winds return. There could be the potential for some snowfall across parts of Scotland, even at lower levels as showery rain proves slow to clear from eastern areas. Across the rest of the UK and Ireland, it will become mostly dry with a few sunny spells, but it will feel noticably colder. The exception will be southern parts of England, where it will remain mild, cloudy and wet, with rain at times. By Thursday, the see-saw ride of mild and cold interludes should be coming to an end, as a more substantial south-westerly flow brings milder air across all parts. It will be slow to reach eastern England and Scotland though, so it will be another rather chilly day here, albeit dry. Thickening cloud will bring rain across much of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales through the afternoon, with some heavy bursts possible. This will march eastwards to reach all but north-east Scotland by evening.

Friday 03/12/04 to Saturday 04/12/04
It looks like being unseasonably mild on Friday, as south-westerly winds continue to blast across the UK, perhaps reaching gale force around the coasts of southern Ireland and south-west England. Most places will be cloudy, and rain will affect Ireland, Scotland and northern England through the day. There should be some sunny spells across the rest of England and Wales, but also the risk of patchy drizzle. Temperature-wise, Saturday will be very similar, as it stays mild everywhere. Further rain will affect many northern and western parts, heavy at times, and accompanied by gale force south-westerly winds. The best of any drier weather will be across southern England and Wales, but sunny spells will be short-lived. Please check back for further forecast updates.
