Weekly Outlook : 27/06/03-03/07/03
Mostly Unsettled With Rain Or Showers

Friday 27/06/03 to Saturday 28//06/03
An unsettled story on Friday, as weather fronts spread slowly in from the west. For much of the day, many northern and western parts will see spells of heavy rain, rather misty and gloomy over upland areas. Ahead of this further east, one or two sunny spells but also some thundery showers breaking out. A warm, humid day across southern and eastern parts, cooler elsewhere. Overnight, patchy rain will clear away from the south, but spells of heavy rain continuing across Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland into Saturday. Cloudy skies and further rain will only slowly die out here during the afternoon, but elsewhere a drier day with good sunny spells, although feeling fresher than of late. Into the early evening, more cloud will stream in from the west across Ireland with rain later, but elsewhere a dry night with clear spells, and turning quite chilly in sheltered spots.

Sunday 29/06/03 to Monday 30/06/03
Low pressure slowly winding up to our south-west during Sunday, bringing cloudy skies and spells of rain into the south-west and across Ireland during the morning. Northern and eastern parts will have a largely dry day, with spells of sunshine, and the best temperatures here. Into the afternoon however, strengthening southerly winds, possible gales in exposed coastal parts for a time, will drive rain north-eastwards, some heavy. This will reach Northern England by midnight, and into Monday is not expected to move much further. This spells a wet day for many northern and western parts, some really rather heavy rain around. To the north of this, mostly dry with some sunshine despite keen easterly winds. To the south, a mixture of sunny spells and frequent, heavy showers. Becoming fresher across the south, staying rather muggy across northern parts.

Tuesday 01/07 /03 to Wednesday 03/07/03
This period of weather is currently looking very unsettled, often with spells of heavy rain. Frontal systems remaining from the weekend will continue to give cloudy skies across many northern parts, still with outbreaks of rain. These should begin to clear northwards towards the end of Wednesday, then many parts joining the south with bright spells and heavy showers. By Thursday, we're expecting the next depression to sweep cloud and rain off the Atlantic, with showers breaking out ahead of this rain. As ever, more detail on next week in our next forecast update.
