An Unsettled, Wet Start To December.

Friday 28/11/03 to Saturday 29/11/03
Much of northern and eastern England and parts of Scotland will have a bright morning today, after any early frost. Cloud, already in western parts however, will thicken spreading outbreaks of rain across much of Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Wales and western parts of England will also become rather cloudy with patchy drizzle around the coasts and hills. Overnight, rain will become more persistent and heavier in the west, reaching central parts by dawn. On Saturday, it will be rather breezy across all parts, with winds reaching gale force along the south, and later east coast. Many places will have outbreaks of rain, some heavy, especially across England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland should become a little brighter in the afternoon, but still with showery rain in places. Temperatures around average in most parts.

Sunday 30/11/03 to Monday 01/11/03
Sunday will be a rather better day across much of northern England, Scotland and Ireland, with sunny spells and scattered showers. Southern England will be rather cloudy at times however, with the risk of rain during the afternoon. Winds will ease considerably, allowing mist and fog to form widely across central parts of England and Wales during the evening and overnight. Rain will become more persistent in the south during the early hours however, with northern parts turning frosty. On Monday, cloudy skies and outbreaks of heavy rain will affect much of England and Wales. Much of Ireland and Northern Ireland will be dry with some sunshine, although eastern coasts will become damp later in the afternoon. Scotland will also be bright, but with a scattering of showers and a keen easterly wind later. Temperatures around average in the south, rather chilly in the north.

Tuesday 02/11/03 to Thursday 04/12/03
On Tuesday, eastern parts of England will be rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Elsewhere there will be some bright or sunny spells but also a scattering of heavy showers. Feeling chilly across many parts with a keen north-easterly breeze. On Wednesday, many parts will stay unsettled, with further rain and drizzle in eastern parts. More cloud and rain will spread across much of Ireland during the day, reaching western Scotland and west Wales during the afternoon, Winds freshening across the north. Thursday will become drier in western regions, with sunny spells and scattered showers. Rain is expected to linger in central and eastern parts, with low cloud and mist.
