Weekly Outlook : 29/10/03-04/11/03
Staying unsettled in general, but with brighter spells for all at times.

Wednesday 29/10/03 to Thursday 30/10/03
It will be a wet start to Wednesday across many parts of England and Wales, and this rain will linger into the afternoon in the south-east. Elsewhere it will become brighter for a time with sunny spells and scattered showers. Further spells of rain, some heavy will spread across much of Wales and England by evening. Scotland and Northern Ireland will have brighter spells, but also some sharp showers for much of the day. Breezy everywhere, strong winds in the south-west. Overnight, many northern parts will become cold with a frost, but increasing cloud elsewhere will keep things milder. On Thursday, another band of cloud and heavy rain will sweep in off the Atlantic across many parts of England, Wales and Ireland in the morning. Elsewhere there will be bright spells and showers to begin with, and it will become windy everywhere during the afternoon. A wet night in store for England, Wales and Ireland. Clear spells and showers elsewhere at first.

Friday 31/10/03 to Saturday 01/11/03
On Friday, England and Wales will remain very wet with some heavy outbreaks of rain, thundery in the south. Much of Ireland and Scotland will have bright spells but with plenty of heavy showers, more persistent in the far north. Winds will touch gale force through the Irish Sea and across parts of Ireland. Slowly but surely, rain will become confined to eastern England during the night, with skies clearing and winds easing elsewhere. On Saturday morning, cloud and outbreaks of mostly light rain will persist in south-east England, but elsewhere it will be bright with only well-scattered showers. During the afternoon, western parts of Ireland will cloud over with rain spreading east, but elsewhere it will stay mostly dry with sunny spells away from the cloudier south-east. The rain will spread to much of Ireland and Northern Ireland overnight, reaching western parts of the mainland. It will become windy, especially across the south.

Sunday 02/11/03 to Tuesday 04/11/03
On Sunday, cloud and rain will quickly sweep across all parts on strong westerly winds. The afternoon will see sunny spells and frequent showers across most of the country, blustery and thundery at times. The far north of Scotland however is expected to stay cloudy with further outbreaks of rain. On Monday, it will be windy with plenty of showers across the country, some heavy, especially in the west. There will be some sunny spells however, particularly later in the day as winds ease for a time. On Tuesday, a small ridge of high pressure is expected to give many parts a dry day with some sunshine after a frosty start. Later in the afternoon however, cloud will increase from the west heralding further rain for mid-week.
