Thursday 03/06/04 to Friday 04/06/04
The unsettled spell of weather will continue on Thursday, especially across Ireland and western parts of England and Wales. Skies will be generally cloudy here, with outbreaks of showery rain, some heavy. Scotland will also be rather cloudy and damp, but any heavy rain will be restricted to high ground. For the rest of England and Wales, there will be a good deal of cloud around, but it should stay dry with occasional sunshine. Feeling fairly warm generally with light westerly winds. On Friday, eastern parts of England will be rather cloudy with drizzle at first, but it will brighten up later. Elsewhere, there will be more in the way of sunny spells, and with winds remaining very light it will feel pleasantly warm. Later in the afternoon, thicker cloud will bring rain into western parts of Northern Ireland.
Saturday 05/06/04 to Sunday 06/06/04
On Saturday, high pressure looks set to become dominant across much of England and Wales, giving a fine day with some warm sunshine. Eastern parts of Scotland, Ireland and northern England should also be dry and bright. South-westerly winds will be fresher across Northern Ireland and western Scotland however, and these will give a lot of cloud and occasional outbreaks of rain. The high pressure will extend its influence northwards on Sunday, such that much of northern England and Scotland will join in the mostly dry, sunny conditions. Once again, western parts of Northern Ireland, and perhaps Ireland will have more in the way of cloud with the risk of showers. Feeling very warm in the sunshine, but the winds will take the edge of the temperatures in the north-west.
Monday 07/06/04 to Tuesday 08/06/04
Although it is still a week away, the weather for Monday is currently looking very warm indeed. Much of England, Wales and Scotland will have sunny spells, as high pressure to the east encourages a warm southerly flow. These southerly winds will be quite brisk across much of Ireland however, and an isolated thundery shower may break out here by evening. Central and eastern parts of the UK will remain sunny on Tuesday, and there is the potential for the warmest temperatures so far this year in some parts. Out to the west across Ireland however, outbreaks of rain will become heavier during the afternoon, with some slow moving, thundery downpours expected later.
