Many parts of central England and Wales will have a cloudy day on Friday with outbreaks of rain. To the south there will be sunny spells but also scattered showers. During the afternoon and evening the cloud and rain will spread southwards once more. For much of Scotland there will be a good deal of cloud around with showery outbreaks of rain, wintry over the hills. Northern England and much of Ireland will be bright but with a scattering of showers and strong winds. Overnight, many southern parts will be cloudy and wet, with clearer spells further north leading to a touch of frost. On Saturday morning, south-eastern parts will be cloudy and damp. Elsewhere there will be sunny spells but also a scattering of showers, especially in the north and east where some may be wintry. Many parts will end the day mostly dry with sunny spells, and lighter winds. However, western parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland will become cloudy and windy later.
Sunday 02/11/03 to Monday 03/11/03
On Sunday, outbreaks of rain will spread to all areas, heavy and persistent in many parts. It will become slow moving across southern and eastern England during the afternoon, with considerable rainfall likely. Elsewhere there will be sunny spells but also frequent, heavy showers, some with hail and thunder. The worst of the showers will be in western parts, with longer drier spells to the east of high ground. Winds will be very strong, reaching gale force in southern and western parts. Showers will continue in western parts overnight, together with strong westerly winds. On Monday, much of Scotland will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, with snow over the hills. Elsewhere, it will be bright but with blustery showers, heavy and thundery at times. Southern parts have the best chance of staying mostly dry. Strong westerly winds will gradually become more northerly during the day, with gales around western coasts.
Tuesday 04/11/03 to Thursday 06/11/03
On Tuesday, much of England and Wales will have a dry day with plenty of sunny spells after overnight mist and frost clears. After a dry start, Ireland and western Scotland will become windy with gales or even severe gales for a time. Cloud and heavy rain will also sweep in during the evening. On Wednesday and Thursday, high pressure is expected to build from the south-east, giving many parts of the country dry weather with sunny spells. Northern Ireland and Scotland will be very windy throughout, with more in the way of cloud at times. It will become very mild everywhere, especially across the south.
