WetterOnline GmbH - Europe's leading private Internet weather service - is Europe's No. 1 WAP-site, too. This is the conclusion of a Forrester Research Report issued earlier this month. Forrester Research Europe conducted in-depth user experience reviews of 50 WAP sites focusing on both functionality and usability. WetterOnline tied for No. 1 with the Norwegian portal DJuice, because WetterOnline combines valuable services with ease of use.
The authors of the report stated that "This weather site succeeds in offering users what they are looking for - fast access to local weather and forecasts for 5,000 cities worldwide." In addition to this they said that WetterOnline ranked among the best in providing customer-service contact by offering multiple ways to feedback from a service phone number to a Web page URL. It was emphasized that WetterOnline is offering "a form (that) even makes it possible for users to email feedback directly from the phone."
Forrester's analysts believe that the WAP will go mass-market in less than half the time that the Web required and that the number of Mobile Internet users will outpace PC Web users in Europe by the end of 2001.
WetterOnline strives to offer the same high-quality weather information and easy-to-use service for the Mobile Internet as they already do in the World Wide Web. WetterOnline's high-standard WAP services are also fully available for the UK & Ireland under http://wap.weatheronline.co.uk and the Netherlands under http://wap.weeronline.nl.
