Unsettled with rain and showers, turning colder form mid-week, possibly stormy

Conditions will be staying unsettled during this week. Low pressure brings bands of rain and showers, some heavy, although there will be a few drier locations too. After mid-week the weather will be turning considerably colder whilst staying showery.

Tuesday 8/10/24
Low-pressure south of Ireland on Tuesday, brings another mixed day. Bands of rain, tracking north through Ireland, Wales, central and southern England through the morning, eventually reaching northern and eastern England in the afternoon. Wet and cloudy for Eastern Scotland, a few brighter, spells and drier in western Scotland. More rain affecting southern Ireland. Tops at 11 to 17C.

Wednesday 9/10/24
Low pressure over and south of the country on Wednesday bringing an unsettled day. Rain in the south and east, some could be heavy. Colder with frequent heavy showers northern and west. Breezy here too. Highs at 8 to 15C.



 
 
 

Thursday 10/10/24
The area of low pressure is east of the British Isles on Thursday. This brings a chilly day with sunshine and showers. The showers merging into longer sells of rain and passing south through the country as bands of rain. A risk of some sleet and snow over the tops of the Scottish mountains. Highs at 7 to 13C.


 

Friday 11/10/24
Low pressure over the British Isles today. Rain, some of it heavy affecting Scotland, northern England and Ireland. Sunshine and showers elsewhere. Snow may afect the mountains of northern Scotland. Highs at 7 to 11C.



 
 
 

Saturday 12/10/24
A ridge of high pressure may build over the British Isles on Saturday. There will still be some showers in the east but for most it will be a dry day with sunshine. Feeling cold. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Sunday 13/10/24
Starting fair on Sunday but then wind and rain may spread from the west. The rain becoming heavy and a risk of gales, severe in the west. Highs at 9 to 15C.
